PREVIEW | AC UNITED VS KIMBERLEY MINERS WELFARE RESERVES
THE RESERVES ARE ON THE ROAD AS THEY FACE FOURTH
UP NEXT, Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves make a trip to the Forest Sports Zone, where they will face fourth placed AC United, who have lost just once in the league so far this season. Again, three points is a must if the miners want to maintain their spot at the top, knowing that the teams right down to sixth place have enough games in hand to get themselves in the hunt for promotion.
AC United come into the match on the back of an unbeaten run over ninety minutes that stretches way back to mid August. They will have designs on promotion themselves and this will be far from an easy fixture for either team.
In their last match, the reserves hosted bottom side, Beeston Old Boys at the Stag in the league. Beeston took an early lead, only for Bijan Pakrouz to equalise. Pakrouz then scored two more in the second half to take all three points and increase the lead at the top of the league. 3-1 to the home side.
AC United’s last match saw them host fellow promotion hopefuls, AFC Colsterworth at the Forest sports Zone. Two goals from Juan Jose Ibrahim Ghali did the damage as AC United won 2-0.
LAST TIME AROUND
The two sides met in October last year at the Forest Sports Zone. Luca Burton, Matt Dickinson and Josh Eaton scored the goals for Kimberley as AC United only scored twice in reply through Theo Townsend and Courtney Brown. 3-2 to Kimberley.
The match at The Stag Ground last season saw Dylan Thornley grab a late consolation for Kimberley after Courtney Brown scored twice and Macauley Reid added another for a 3-1 to AC United
FINALLY
This is a huge match for both sides. Kimberley need the points to stay ahead of the pack. AC United need the points to give them a chance of catching Kimberley. We expect a great game and plenty of sparks to fly.
