PREVIEW | KIMBERLEY MINERS WELFARE RESERVES VS BEESTON OLD BOYS

THE RESERVES LOOK FOR ANOTHER VICTORY TO MAINTAIN THE CHARGE AT THE TOP

UP NEXT, Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves look to follow up on Tuesday night’s fantastic win as they welcome bottom side, Beeston Old Boys to the Stag Ground. Tuesday night saw the miners extend their lead at the top of the division to five points, although second and third have games in hand that they need to win.

Beeston Old Boys come to Kimberley sitting rock bottom, with just a draw to their name all season, with that point having been taken away for cancelling a fixture, leaving them with nothing to show for their efforts so far. They come in search of points but will be more than aware of the task in front of them.

Kimberley’s last match was a midweek game against Keyworth United Reserves on Tuesday night at the Stag Ground. It took just six minutes for Kimberley to take the lead through Ben Morley, who came down from the first team as he regains fitness after two months out injured. Ben Mee doubled the lead just four minutes later. Mee scored his second on twenty three and completed his hat trick on thirty six. He went on to make it 5-0 with his fourth on forty one minutes. Morley then got back in on the act two minutes before half time, lifting the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper from an angle for 6-0 at the break. Toby Gibbs got in on the act four minutes after the restart and Morley completed his hat trick just before the hour mark with a powerful effort from 25 yards. Gibbs bagged his second of the match ten minutes later. Keyworth grabbed a consolation on seventy, but substitute Joe Gillan restored the nine goal gap just four minutes later for the match to finish 10-1 to the hosts.

Beeston Old Boys’ last match was a 9-1 home hammering to Stapleford Town Reserves.

LAST TIME AROUND

The two sides met just four weeks ago at the Hetley Pearson Recreation Ground. A simple walk in the park ended in a 5-0 win for Kimberley as first teamer Aaron Coyle scored twice, likewise Toby Gibbs and then Lewie Sankey also hit the back of the net for the visiting miners.

The previous season, he two sides last met at the Stag Ground in April in what was Kimberley Reserves’ last match of the season. Two second half goals in two minutes from Daniel Walker and then Taylor Kalinins rounded the season off for Kimberley to take a 2-0 win.
The reverse fixture in November ended the other way around, with Joe Stanway scoring Twice for Beeston.

FINALLY

Both teams will be desperate for points. Kimberley know they need to keep winning so that the teams below them feel the pressure with their games in hand. Beeston need to get themselves going if they're to have any chance of staying in the division
