Here's a late review of what happened last weekend.
Saturday the 30th of November
On Saturday, the first team made a trip to Forest Town, where they faced fifth placed AFC Mansfield. Having lost 4-0 at home, the lads were determined to avoid a repeat. A very close match saw very little goalmouth action until late in the second half as the miners pressed for a winner. Plenty of late chances, no goals. 0-0.
The Reserves hosted bottom side, Beeston Old Boys at the Stag in the league. Beeston took an early lead, only for Bijan Pakrouz to equalise. Pakrouz then scored two more in the second half to take all three points and increase the lead at the top of the league. 3-1 to the home side.
Sunday the 1st of December
Our Empal team faced third placed Stratford Haven at Digby Street. A miserable morning ended with a 10-1 win for the visiting team.
The LESL Team welcomed Allenton United to The Stag Ground in the Long Eaton Sunday League Junior Cup quarter final. A straightforward match saw two goals each for Alex King and Josh Hamilton. These were accompanied by goals from Liam Garner, Alex Neilson and Tom Scott for 7-0 and passage into the semis.
The under 18's had no fixture this week
The vets made the trip to Debdale Park to face league leaders Sherwood Colliery. Things went for the table toppers, running out 5-1 winners. Martin Lench grabbing the only goal for Kimberley
