UP NEXT, The reserves are at home for the first time this month as they welcome Rushcliffe FC to The Stag Ground. With an eleven point gap at the top of the league, the miners will be confident, but will be acutely aware that there are three teams who can catch them if they win their games in hand.
Rushcliffe come to Kimberley sitting in eighth spot, knowing that they are still in with a shout of promotion if they can string a run together having already won their last three matches.
In their last match, the reserves maintained their charge at the top of NSL division one with a 4-1 away win over Ravenshead. Goals from Chris Neilson, Lewis Deavin and a brace for Brad Mee wrapped up the points and kept the pressure on the chasing pack who all have games in hand.
Rushcliffe’s last fixture saw them host second bottom AFC Sandiacre Town at East Leake Leisure Centre. With the score at 2-2 at the break, Rushcliffe stepped things up i9 the second half and smashed seven more goals in. In all, goals from Jack Jones, Scott Eddyshaw, Joe Smiley and Jordan Lambert were accompanied by five from top scorer Callum Baker, who will surely be the man to keep an eye on this weekend.
LAST TIME AROUND
The two sides met at the end of September. Goals from Lewie Sankey, Kian Hughes, Owen Evans and Lewis Deavin were enough to take the points. Mitchell Palmer and Elliott Morley scored for Rushcliffe in a 4-2 win to Kimberley.
Last season, Rushclife were on the charge to promotion from division two and didn’t meet Kimberley Reserves due to this gap.
